Evidence:Schedule, base-level requirement, no-daily-limit/no-team-up rule, ranking-by-best-single-hit rule, achievement-tier rule, and the Warrior-variant +50% damage figure are transcribed from a community infographic ('Z Route: Redemption Giant Invader Guide', credited to ViolentBunny from GOON on server S40). The pre-event scouting damage boost (+1%) and the Zara scoring note are separate advice from a 50M+ power veteran player relayed to the site author. None of this has been independently confirmed against an in-game screen by the site author. The infographic's example squads grouped Kim Mina under the Assault squad and Celeste under the Tactical squad; both are confirmed on their own hero pages to belong to the other faction, and the site author (a 50M+ power veteran player) confirmed those two were misassigned in the graphic and that faction match matters more than a clean Frontline/Backline split here — the squad table below has been corrected accordingly. Carter's row was updated again on 2026-09-14 once his hero page confirmed Warrior/Backline from an in-game screenshot. Lucian, Nicole, Silas, and Katya still don't have hero pages, so their faction/position in the table remains unverified.

Giant Invader is a solo world-boss challenge: you send your own squad against a giant boss on the world map for a ranked, single-hit damage score. There’s no team-up, and getting the matchup right — the right faction of heroes, against the right variant of the boss — makes a bigger difference than raw power alone.

Schedule and access

  • Giant Invader: No.99 appears on the world map for 23 hours, twice a week — Monday and Thursday at 00:00 server time. Find him through the event tab.
  • Any Commander with a Base of Lv.8 or higher can send troops to challenge him.
  • There’s no daily limit on attempts, but you cannot team up — this is solo content.

How scoring works

  • Rewards come from completing a set number of challenges, and separately from your damage.
  • Only your single highest hit that day counts toward the damage ranking. Repeated attempts don’t stack — they’re for finding your best hit, not accumulating total damage.
  • Achievement-tier rewards unlock progressively as server time advances, and each tier can only be claimed once.

Match your squad’s faction to the boss variant

The Giant Invader comes in three faction variants, and each one takes bonus damage from heroes of the matching faction:

Boss variantBonus damage from
Giant Invader (Warrior)Warrior heroes
Giant Invader (Assault)Assault heroes
Giant Invader (Tactical)Tactical heroes

For the Warrior variant specifically, the source guide gives a concrete figure: Warrior heroes deal +50% more damage against it. The Assault and Tactical variants presumably work the same way, but no equivalent percentage has been confirmed for them yet.

Core PvE squad rules

These apply to Giant Invader and to PvE content generally:

  • Run a 5-hero squad of the same hero type whenever possible, to pick up the squad type bonus on top of the faction-damage bonus above. Getting the faction right matters more than getting a clean frontline/backline split — a 5-hero same-faction squad still beats a mixed-faction squad with perfect 2-Frontline/3-Backline slotting.
  • Frontline = shield-icon heroes; Backline = pistol/support-icon heroes. Slot each hero into the row matching their own confirmed position where you know it; don’t force a hero into Frontline or Backline just to hit a 2/3 split if it costs you the faction match.
  • Build and fully invest in one squad before spreading resources into a second — level, gear, and star up your core squad first.
  • Bring the correct troop type for the enemy you’re facing; troop counters matter here as much as hero faction.

Example squads (corrected for faction)

The source infographic’s example rosters had two heroes grouped under the wrong faction squad — Kim Mina is confirmed Tactical, not Assault, and Celeste is confirmed Assault, not Tactical. They’ve been swapped below so each squad is a genuine same-faction lineup. Frontline/Backline placement follows each hero’s own confirmed position where it’s known; a few named heroes (Lucian, Nicole, Silas, Katya) still don’t have a page yet, so their row stays unverified as the source guide had it:

Boss variantFrontlineBackline
WarriorLucian (unverified)Monroe, Aria, Nora, Carter
AssaultCeleste, Nicole (unverified)Yana, Victor, Lee Yu
TacticalSilas (unverified), Katya (unverified)Leah, Taylor, Kim Mina

Carter is now confirmed Warrior/Backline rather than the Frontline slot the source infographic implied, so he moved to the Backline column above — which leaves the Warrior squad with four confirmed Backline heroes and only one confirmed Frontline (Lucian, still unverified). A real Warrior squad still needs two Frontline tanks, so pair Lucian (once confirmed) or another Warrior tank alongside him rather than reading this row as complete.

Use this as a template for which faction to stack against which boss variant, built from whichever heroes of that faction you actually have — it doesn’t have to be these exact heroes.

Scout a city first

Scouting a city before Giant Invader begins gives you a 1% damage boost for the event. It costs almost nothing and applies across your run, so build it into your pre-event routine.

The same boost applies to Alliance Ambush.

Bring Zara

Zara raises your score in Giant Invader. Concentrate her Battle Skill EXP on Roar.

Partially unverified. The schedule, base requirement, and scoring rules above come from a named community guide and haven’t been independently checked by the site author. The 1% scouting figure is a veteran player’s number, not one confirmed from an in-game screen, and four heroes in the squad table (Lucian, Nicole, Silas, Katya) still don’t have confirmed faction/position. If you can verify any of this, share what you find in Discord.
